Technical FAQs

Commercial infrared touchless faucet with vandal-resistant solid brass construction, adjustable sensing, automatic shutoff, and AC/DC power operation.

✥ Sensor Calibration Procedure? +
Complete sensor commissioning after the sink, countertop and surrounding accessories are installed. The digital microprocessor self-adjusts its detection zone according to surrounding geometry, while the sensor range can be fine-tuned where required.
◇ Hydraulic Checks During Installation? +
Flush the supply piping before final connection, verify secure DN15 / G1/2-inch plumbing connections, inspect the built-in strainer for debris, and confirm stable inlet pressure before commissioning the electronic solenoid assembly.
◯ Flow Rate Verification? +
Verify approximately 2.2 GPM through the standard mesh aerator under normal operating conditions. Restricted discharge should be checked against available water pressure, aerator condition, inlet filtration and supply-line cleanliness.
↻ Continuous Water Flow Diagnostics? +
Clean the infrared sensor window, remove reflective interference from the sensing field, verify stable electrical power, and inspect the magnet-latching solenoid and strainer if water fails to shut off after the user exits the detection zone.
⌁ Sensor Detection Range? +
The active infrared sensing range is adjustable, with the standard detection zone approximately 4 to 5 inches from the sensor. The controller can be commissioned for different sink shapes, surface colors and installation conditions.
⌂ Operating Water Pressure? +
Maintain stable inlet pressure within approximately 10 to 125 PSI for normal commercial operation. Consistent dynamic pressure and clean filtration help preserve reliable activation and uniform water delivery.
⚡ Power Supply Options? +
The Solo sensor system supports AC110V hardwired operation and DC6V battery power. Four AA alkaline batteries may be used for battery operation, providing installation flexibility and backup capability in commercial applications.
⌕ Routine Maintenance Requirements? +
Periodically clean the infrared sensor window and aerator, service the built-in strainer, inspect battery and electrical connections, and verify reliable solenoid closure and automatic shutoff during scheduled maintenance.

of 5 Warm Finish Works Saturday, June 20, 2026
Reviewer: Nathan Brooks from Tampa, FL
Light oil-rubbed bronze gives the Solo an unusual advantage: it provides touchless functionality without making the restroom feel overtly institutional. Its angular 90-degree form suits contemporary commercial interiors, while the built-in 30-second shutoff addresses a practical concern in public facilities where unattended water flow can become costly. The warmer surface naturally needs more careful cleaning than ordinary chrome. That small maintenance consideration is outweighed by the ability to combine automated handwashing with an architectural finish appropriate for restaurants, hotels, executive offices, and other design-conscious facilities.

5 of 5 Dependable Sensor Precision Wednesday, April 15, 2026
Reviewer: Caroline Mercer, Infrastructure Consultant from San Antonio, TX
While upgrading several transportation and municipal restroom facilities between 2024 and 2025, we replaced aging touchless faucets that had become difficult to maintain due to erratic infrared response, premature solenoid wear, and inconsistent shutoff timing. The BST509-LB Solo faucet delivered a much more stable long-term performance profile. Its infrared AI smart-chip maintained highly accurate hand detection even during continuous high-cycle usage, while the digital microprocessor consistently regulated water flow timing without requiring repeated recalibration. The solid brass vandal-resistant body, ceramic disc cartridge, and water-resistant solenoid enclosure also proved substantially more durable than previous sensor faucet systems we had maintained. From a facilities-management perspective, the faucet remained exceptionally dependable across all installations. Battery efficiency stayed strong, internal flow regulation remained consistent, and the brushed gold finish resisted spotting, corrosion, and coating wear despite aggressive cleaning schedules. Compared to earlier commercial touchless fixtures used in the same environments, the BST509-LB significantly reduced maintenance interruptions while improving overall restroom reliability and operational consistency.”
