Technical FAQs

Commercial infrared touchless faucet with solid brass construction, adjustable sensing, AC/DC power and three coordinated finish options.

✥ Sensor Calibration Procedure? +
Complete sensor commissioning after the basin, countertop and surrounding accessories are installed. The factory sensing range is approximately 4 to 5 inches from the sensor and can be adjusted to suit the final lavatory geometry.
◇ Hydraulic Checks During Installation? +
Flush the supply piping before final connection, inspect the built-in strainer for debris and confirm secure hoses and supply fittings before commissioning the electronic solenoid assembly.
◯ Flow Rate Verification? +
The Melun product specification lists approximately 4.5 liters per minute. If discharge becomes restricted, inspect the outlet, inlet strainer, available pressure and upstream supply path.
↻ Continuous Water Flow Diagnostics? +
Clean the infrared sensing area, remove reflective objects from the detection field and inspect the solenoid valve for debris or incomplete seating. The faucet incorporates a factory-set approximately 30-second automatic shutoff.
⌁ Sensor Detection Range? +
The product specification lists a preset detection zone of approximately 15 cm. BathSelect also states that the factory sensing position is approximately 4 to 5 inches and can be adjusted during commissioning.
⌂ Operating Water Pressure? +
BathSelect specifies approximately 0.1 to 0.6 MPa operating pressure. Maintain stable dynamic inlet pressure during commissioning to preserve consistent flow and reliable electronic-valve response.
⚡ Power Supply Options? +
The Melun platform supports DC operation together with AC/DC dual-use capability. The product description also identifies four AA alkaline batteries or AC power depending on the installation.
⌕ Routine Maintenance Requirements? +
Periodically clean the infrared sensor and outlet, inspect the built-in strainer, check the battery system and verify reliable solenoid activation and complete automatic shutoff during scheduled service.

5 of 5 Infrared Matte Control Wednesday, May 6, 2026
Reviewer: Olivia Bennett, Design Specialist from Miami, FL
During several upscale hospitality restroom renovations between 2022 and 2024, we replaced decorative matte black touchless faucets that repeatedly developed finish wear and unstable sensor performance near mirrored surfaces. The BMelun Matte Blackhandled continuous guest usage substantially better than earlier systems. Sensor responsiveness remained accurate, while the matte black coating resisted spotting and cleaning-related surface degradation exceptionally well. One technical detail that stood out was the consistency of the infrared response near reflective countertops, which minimized false activations and improved operational reliability across installations.
