Technical FAQs

Commercial touchless bathroom faucet with solid brass construction, adaptive infrared sensing, AC/DC power, 2.2 GPM flow and serviceable inlet filtration.

✥ How Should the Sensor Range Be Commissioned? +
The active infrared neck-mounted sensor provides an approximately 2 to 6 inch sensing range. BathSelect also specifies automatic sensing adjustment based on lavatory color and geometry, so final commissioning should be completed after the basin and countertop are fully installed.
◇ How Fast Does the Sensor Respond? +
The electronic control is specified with an approximately 0.3-second response time after valid hand detection. The solenoid closes approximately 2 seconds after the user's hands leave the sensing field for controlled hands-free operation.
◯ What Is the Rated Flow Performance? +
The standard aerator is rated at approximately 2.2 GPM. Stable flow depends on adequate dynamic supply pressure and clean filtration, so the aerator and inlet strainer should be inspected whenever discharge becomes restricted.
↻ How Does Continuous-Run Protection Work? +
The faucet includes an adjustable factory-set approximately 30-second automatic shutoff and an extended 60-second maximum run limit. This helps prevent continuous unattended flow if the sensor remains obstructed.
⌁ What Water Pressure Range Is Supported? +
BathSelect lists approximately 10 to 125 PSI in the main commercial specifications, while the extended technical section specifies 1 to 100 PSI working pressure. Verify stable dynamic pressure before final commissioning.
⌂ How Is the Solenoid Protected From Debris? +
A built-in serviceable strainer and approximately 50-mesh particle filtration help prevent supply-line debris from reaching the magnet-latching solenoid. Clean the filtration components during scheduled preventive maintenance.
⚡ Which Power Configurations Are Supported? +
The faucet supports four AA alkaline batteries or AC/DC power. BathSelect lists a 6-volt magnet-latching solenoid and approximately 250,000 battery operating cycles under the published specification.
⌕ What Should Routine Maintenance Include? +
Clean the infrared sensor window and aerator, inspect the built-in strainer, verify battery or AC power condition and confirm reliable solenoid shutoff. Also inspect deck mounting, hoses and supply connections during scheduled commercial service.

5 of 5 Consistent Infrared Control Wednesday, April 15, 2026
Reviewer: Derek Whitfield, Systems Consultant from Cincinnati, OH
After multiple civic building restroom upgrades revealed ongoing problems with unstable sensor timing and premature solenoid wear in earlier touchless faucets, we transitioned to the Oil Rubbed across several municipal facilities between 2022 and 2024.The faucet delivered much better operational consistency under continuous daily use. Its infrared sensing system maintained accurate detection without excessive false activations, while the gooseneck spout geometry improved sink clearance and reduced splashback around countertops. The brass valve body and sealed electronic assembly also handled moisture-heavy environments more reliably than previous systems.A technical advantage we noticed during long-term operation was the stability of the sensor response under fluctuating water pressure conditions, which reduced the need for recalibration and helped maintain consistent flow timing between fixtures across multiple buildings.

4 of 5 Sensor Response Stability Thursday, January 15, 2026
Reviewer: BlueRidge Contracting Group from Los Angeles, CA
As a facility engineer, unreliable activation in low-light restrooms caused excessive water usage. This unit resolves it with a responsive infrared sensor supported by hybrid AC/DC power. Flow rate is optimized for efficiency while maintaining steady output across varying pressure conditions. The internal brass build enhances durability compared to plated sensor faucets.

5 of 5 Bronze Black Control Thursday, July 24, 2025
Reviewer: Nina Foster from Seattle, WA
BathSelect Touchless Commercial Automatic Sensor Faucet Oil Rubbed Bronze/Matte Black fit well into a hospitality restroom refresh because the project needed a touchless fixture that looked deliberate and performed consistently. The oil rubbed bronze finish gives the installation a more premium presence, and the sensor response feels quick and controlled at the sink. It supports a more reliable hands-free wash station without making the space feel overly technical. It brings a cleaner user experience with less daily intervention from staff. Having warranty support in place made the long-term value easier to approve.

5 of 5 Dark Control Finish Saturday, July 12, 2025
Reviewer: Andrew Cox from Fort Worth, Texas
We deployed this unit in a high-traffic environment and monitored its behavior closely. The BathSelect Bronze Black Control (Model BST-509B) delivered stable results.

As a commercial contractor, installation and maintenance efficiency were key priorities. The internal layout allows clean connections and easy servicing access. The matte black anti-fingerprint coating enhances usability while maintaining consistent water delivery and controlled flow shutdown.

Their technical team assisted with calibration and ensured proper commissioning. Overall, the unit meets commercial expectations for reliability, hygiene, and lifecycle performance.
