Technical FAQs

Commercial automatic touchless faucet with cast brass construction, adjustable infrared sensing, 1.8 GPM flow, self-adapting control, and AC/DC operation.

✥ Sensor Calibration Procedure? +
Complete commissioning after the basin, countertop and surrounding accessories are installed. The self-adapting infrared controller automatically establishes its operating field, while detection can be adjusted approximately 16–32 cm where required.
◇ Hydraulic Checks During Installation? +
Flush the water supply before final connection, verify secure G1/2-inch inlet and outlet fittings, inspect the integrated water path for debris, and confirm stable dynamic pressure before commissioning the motorized valve.
◯ Flow Rate Verification? +
Verify approximately 1.8 GPM or 6.81 L/min under normal operating conditions. If output is restricted, inspect the outlet, supply connections and available dynamic water pressure before adjusting sensor settings.
↻ Continuous Water Flow Diagnostics? +
Clean the infrared sensor window, remove reflective interference from the sensing field, verify stable power, and inspect the electronic motor valve for debris or incomplete seating if water does not shut off correctly.
⌁ Sensor Detection Range? +
The commercial infrared control provides an adjustable detection zone of approximately 16–32 cm. Final calibration should be completed after the basin and surrounding finished surfaces are fully installed.
⌂ Operating Water Pressure? +
The specification lists a working pressure range of approximately 0.05–1.6 MPa. Maintain stable dynamic pressure and clean supply connections to support consistent touchless activation and controlled discharge.
⚡ Power Supply Options? +
The BST6177 electronic system supports AC and DC 6V operation through the specified box transformer configuration. Battery service life is listed at approximately 100,000 operating cycles.
⌕ Routine Maintenance Requirements? +
Periodically clean the infrared sensing window and outlet, inspect supply and electrical connections, verify integrated shutoff operation, and confirm reliable valve closure during scheduled commercial maintenance.

of 5 Serviceability Builds Confidence Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Reviewer: Dylan Matthews from Phoenix, AZ
Maintenance provisions are what make this BathSelect platform particularly convincing for facilities teams. The commercial sensor architecture incorporates solid-brass construction, adjustable detection, a water-resistant solenoid enclosure, AC/DC capability, automatic shutoff, and a cleanable strainer that helps prevent debris from reaching the valve. Related specifications also identify active infrared sensing and a 2–6 inch detection range. Oil-rubbed bronze needs finish-appropriate cleaning, but underneath the specialty surface is a service-conscious system suited to demanding public installations.

4 of 5 No False triggering Sunday, May 3, 2026
Reviewer: Rebecca Monroe, Systems Consultant from Dallas, TX
Instead of continuing to service decorative brushed-gold faucets that repeatedly developed finish deterioration and inconsistent infrared response, we upgraded several executive office restroom installations to the Gold Brass Faucet between 2022 and 2024. The faucet maintained highly accurate touchless responsiveness throughout continuous commercial usage, while the brushed gold brass finish resisted spotting, oxidation, and cleaning-related wear significantly better than previous decorative fixtures. Water delivery also remained controlled without excessive splashback around vessel-style sinks. Technically, the sensing module retained highly stable calibration under changing ambient lighting conditions, where earlier designer faucets frequently produced delayed activation or false triggering behavior.
