Complete sensor commissioning after the basin, countertop and surrounding fixtures are installed. Verify consistent hand recognition throughout the 2–6 inch detection field and confirm reflective basin surfaces do not create unintended sensor activation.
◇ Hydraulic Checks During Installation? +
Flush the supply piping before final connection, verify the 1/2-inch NPT male inlet, inspect the 50-mesh particle filter and confirm stable dynamic pressure before commissioning the electronic valve assembly.
◯ Flow Rate Verification? +
The faucet uses a 2.2 GPM standard aerator with optional 1.0 GPM and 0.5 GPM configurations. Confirm the specified aerator, clean filtration and available dynamic pressure when verifying field flow.
↻ Continuous Water Flow Diagnostics? +
Clean the infrared sensor window, remove permanent obstructions from the detection zone and inspect the magnet-latching solenoid for debris or incomplete seating. A 60-second maximum running-time safeguard limits continuous discharge.

While overseeing several high-traffic restroom modernization projects between 2024 and 2025, we replaced older touchless faucets that had become difficult to maintain due to inconsistent sensor activation and premature solenoid wear.The Elephant Trunk faucet performed far better than many previous systems we had specified. The curved wall-mounted design improved sink clearance and splash control, while the infrared sensor maintained fast and accurate activation even during continuous daily use. The solid brass body and sealed electronic assembly also handled moisture exposure exceptionally well without operational instability. What made this model especially effective at scale was its consistency across installations. Shutoff timing, water pressure regulation, and sensor responsiveness remained uniform between facilities, helping reduce maintenance variability and improve long-term restroom reliability planning.
