Matte black gives Aurelia's column geometry its clearest outline. There are fewer reflections to soften the profile, so alignment between the spout, handles, basin, and surrounding countertop becomes more noticeable than with chrome. BathSelect confirms this version as a two-handle, deck-mounted member of the collection. BathSelect I would treat water quality as part of the finish decision because pale mineral deposits inevitably announce themselves faster against black surfaces. That does not make the finish impractical; it simply rewards regular, non-abrasive cleaning rather than delayed maintenance. In return, the faucet creates excellent contrast against pale stone and integrated white basins. For contemporary interiors, matte black makes the familiar three-hole arrangement feel substantially sharper without introducing complicated operation.

Contrast Needed Balance

Matte black gave Aurelia excellent definition against the light quartz counters selected for our technology office, but the first prototype revealed that repeating black across every accessory made the room visually heavy. Designers pulled back elsewhere and allowed the faucet to carry most of the contrast. That revision produced a much more balanced result. Three stars because the finish requires thoughtful restraint in the surrounding specification. Once the palette was simplified, the column form became a strong architectural element rather than just another dark fixture.
