How does the 900 mm linear drain improve shower floor drainage efficiency?

The extended 900 × 100 mm drainage channel captures runoff across a wider collection area than conventional point drains, reducing surface ponding while supporting uniform floor drainage toward a single outlet.

Why should the shower substrate be sloped uniformly toward the linear drain?

A continuous floor gradient directs water into the drainage channel, preventing standing water, minimizing slip hazards, and maintaining consistent drainage performance throughout the shower enclosure.

How does the deodorization drain system minimize sewer gas migration?

The deodorization design works with the plumbing trap to maintain an effective water seal, limiting odor migration from the drainage system while supporting continuous wastewater discharge.

Why is brass construction advantageous for a commercial linear floor drain?

Solid brass provides excellent corrosion resistance, dimensional stability, and long-term durability under continuous moisture exposure while maintaining secure threaded connections and structural rigidity.

How does the electroplated brushed nickel finish improve long-term performance?

The electroplated surface improves resistance to oxidation, routine cleaning chemicals, and everyday wear while preserving the uniform brushed appearance in residential and commercial wet environments.

What maintenance practices help prevent drainage restriction?

Periodic removal of debris, hair, soap residue, and mineral deposits from the grate and outlet channel maintains unrestricted flow capacity and reduces the likelihood of localized blockage.

Why should the grate elevation be adjusted flush with the finished floor?

Proper grate elevation eliminates trip points, promotes uninterrupted water migration into the drain channel, and provides a professional finished appearance after tile installation.

Which commissioning procedures verify complete BS-NABN35 drain performance?

Commissioning should verify channel levelness, floor slope toward the drain, leak-free outlet connection, deodorization function, unrestricted discharge, flush grate alignment, secure installation, and rapid drainage under continuous water-flow testing.

Brushed Nickel Bathroom Crave Rectangular Floor Drain FAQ

Linear Drainage Efficiency, Finish Protection & Channel Flow Control

How does the rectangular drain shape improve water removal?

The elongated inlet area captures sheet flow across a wider floor section for faster drainage.

How does brushed nickel improve visible surface durability?

The brushed finish helps conceal water spotting, light abrasion, and daily cleaning marks.

What helps prevent pooling around the drain body?

Proper floor slope directs water toward the linear channel, reducing standing water near tile edges.

How does channel design support maintenance access?

The linear cover format allows easier debris removal and inspection compared with concealed small outlets.

Clutter Effectively Removed	Saturday, August 15, 2026
Reviewer: Jennifer Lockhart from Boise, ID

Shower drainage rarely receives attention during design presentations, yet this brushed-nickel rectangular drain became important in our health club renovation because the new showers use large-format floor tile and minimal hardware. The linear geometry creates a cleaner termination than the small conventional drains originally documented, while the brushed surface coordinates naturally with surrounding fixtures. Tile crews appreciated having the drain dimensions settled before establishing floor falls. Once installed, it virtually disappears into the composition, which is exactly the kind of performance a well-resolved commercial detail should provide.
