Kohler Malleco Touchless Faucet Sensor Not Working

Automatic Sensor Faucets On Sale

If your touchless faucet sensor becomes faulty, here are some troubleshooting steps on how to fix it. First of all, clean out any dirt, dust, or water spots that might have obscured your sensor. Clean the sensor gently with a damp soft cloth, not using abrasive materials, as the slightest scratch can damage the surface. Check the source of power. If it is battery operated, change them with fresh new quality ones and align the positive and negative terminals. If it is an AC adapter type, ensure that both sides-behind the power source and behind the faucet are properly connected. If the above fails, attempt a reset on the faucet. Switch off the water supply and withdraw the power source, battery or AC Adapter. Wait for some minutes before reconnecting the power and reactivating the water supply. This will make the system to calibrate. Lastly, verify that your faucet is receiving sufficient water pressure, as low pressure can sometimes affect the sensor’s performance. If the problem persists, refer to the manufacturer’s manual for additional troubleshooting steps or contact customer support for assistance. Regular maintenance can prevent sensor malfunctions and extend the faucet’s lifespan.

Professional Touchless Faucet Troubleshooting Considerations

A touchless faucet that suddenly stops responding does not always require replacement. In many cases, issues such as depleted batteries, interrupted power, sensor contamination, improper handle position, clogged aerators, closed supply valves, incorrect sensor calibration, or worn solenoid components can affect normal operation. Before replacing a faucet, it is recommended to perform a systematic inspection of the power supply, water supply, sensor window, control module, and valve assembly while following the manufacturer's troubleshooting procedures. BathSelect® offers an extensive collection of commercial-grade commercial sensor faucets, advanced temperature-control touchless faucets, integrated touchless faucet and soap dispenser systems, and professional commercial faucet installation resources to support reliable installation and long-term performance. Plumbing professionals frequently reference IAPMO plumbing standards to support code-compliant installations, IAPMO Codes when verifying plumbing requirements, ASME engineering standards for mechanical performance, NSF public health standards for plumbing system components, and BIMobject for BIM and Revit coordination during specification and facility planning. Comparing these related BathSelect collections and recognized industry resources helps homeowners, contractors, architects, plumbing engineers, facility managers, and maintenance professionals diagnose touchless faucet issues more efficiently while supporting code-conscious installation, simplified maintenance, dependable operation, and long-term lifecycle performance.
