Soak Shower Head in Vinegar!

Make sure to Immerse the showerhead completely in the vinegar solution to remove any left limescale deposits!
Showerhead tends to ad build up (limescale) overtime this is due to water residues that can cause shower head to clog causing water flow to be reduced over time.
It is a good practice to do this every 6 month to remove such build up from your showerhead. There are many ways to clean shower head either you can remove it from the shower or just clean it while in place. Based on you shower head size we recommend to use a bucket/pot or simply a plastic bag.



Usually it is recommended to use a combination solution of white vinegar and a little of the packing soda. Fill the pot with enough white vinegar to cover the showerhead. The acids in the vinegar will slowly dissolve the white mineral deposits on the showerhead. Let the showerhead soak in this solution for a minimum of 30 minutes or simply leave it overnight.

How to clean a Showerhead with vinegar?

Showerheads are an essential part of our daily routine, providing us with refreshing and invigorating shower experience. Over time, mineral deposits, limescale, bacteria can build up inside showerhead, affecting water flow and water quality. Cleaning your showerhead with vinegar is a simple and cost-effective way to restore its former glory. Before you begin cleaning your showerhead, gather the following materials: White vinegar, A plastic bag or a resealable plastic sandwich bag, Rubber band or zip tie ,Wrench or pliers, Old toothbrush, Soft cloth or sponge, and bucket.

The first step in cleaning showerhead is to remove it from the shower arm. Most showerheads are attached with a nut that can be easily loosened using a wrench or pliers. Be gentle to avoid damaging the showerhead or the shower arm.

Fill a bucket with white vinegar. White vinegar is a mild acid that helps dissolve mineral deposits and limescale effectively. You may dilute the vinegar with water if you have a particularly stubborn buildup. A 1:1 ratio of the vinegar to water usually works well. Place the removed showerhead into a plastic bag or a resealable plastic sandwich bag. Pour enough vinegar solution into the bag to submerge the showerhead completely. Seal the bag securely around the showerhead using a rubber band or zip tie. Ensure that the showerhead is fully immersed in the vinegar solution. Leave the showerhead to soak in the vinegar solution for at least 1-2 hours or overnight for severe buildup.

The vinegar will break down the mineral deposits and limescale, making them easier to remove. After soaking, remove the showerhead from the vinegar solution. Use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the nozzles and surface of the showerhead. Be thorough but gentle to avoid damaging the showerhead's finish. Rinse the showerhead under running water to remove any remaining vinegar and loosened debris. Use your fingers to unclog any remaining mineral deposits from the nozzles. Ensure that all vinegar residue is washed away.

Carefully reattach the cleaned showerhead to the shower arm. Use a wrench or pliers to tighten it securely, but avoid over-tightening to prevent damage. Use soft cloth or sponge to wipe down the exterior of the showerhead to remove lingering residue. This step will leave your showerhead looking shiny and clean.
