4) Commissioning — Step‑by‑Step

  1. Pre‑flush hot and cold lines; clean strainers; verify water quality.

  2. Verify pressure 20–80 psi and supply temperature ranges.

  3. Mount DMV and diverter; torque per §3.1; leak test at working pressure.

  4. Wire SELV driver; star topology; verify polarity; label nodes.

  5. Connect controller; update firmware if prompted (service app).

  6. Program setpoint limits, max run (15–30 min), cleaning/housekeeping mode.

  7. Run auto‑calibration (thermistors/valve position); verify stable 104 °F output @ typical flow.

  8. Test fail‑safe: close hot, confirm DMV shuts; close cold, confirm DMV shuts; remove power, confirm close.

  9. Exercise outlet switching; check anti‑hammer ramps and cross‑flow isolation.

  10. If recirc present, verify warm‑up/purge routine and return temps.

  11. Document settings; export BLE snapshot (where supported); hand over O&M sheet.


5) Hygiene & Disinfection Routines

  • Warm‑up: Pre‑use flush to reach setpoint before enabling user control.

  • Hygiene flush: 10–30 s after chosen idle window (facility policy).

  • Thermal purge: 60–70 °C (140–158 °F) for 2–5 min, supervised; auto‑revert to tempered; signage/area control required.
